A choice, the ability or authority to select between a variety or duo of options and alternatives. We each have rights, we each have opinions, we each have… a choice. Life is full of obstacles and barriers and we must choose how to overcome them to proceed to the next level. We all have the right to choose what we aspire to do in life. When a child is born he/she is born with the ability to choose. When he/she evolves into a young adult, it’s choices may be more than what toy to play with or what dress to wear, instead it might be about perceiving a career in arts, science, commerce or it may concern a more personal matter. But nonetheless the young adult still withholds the right to choose throughout his/her life. Letting someone else hold the rein and direct your key life choices is not a way to live.
Each person has a choice and no one has the right to take away your choice of beliefs, profession or way of life.
Of course we thrive while living and we rejoice in our capability to make choices, although we must at times rein ourselves in and remember not to lose track and in the process, lose ourselves. Our choices may not always be accurate and beneficial to society or even ourselves, we all make mistakes, which brings in another choice, either to sulk over the irreversible past or move on and strive to make progress for the future. Our choices require wisdom and knowledge and, from our mistakes we acquire it. Maybe you had the choice to choose your team’s play in a basketball game or choose where to go on vacation during your summer or perhaps your choices had a few slip ups or a lot of them but you still had that choice... did you not?
Our world is evolving drastically and rapidly, yet some people are deprived of their ability and right to choose. When we have the power to choose, we must not exploit it or take it for granted. Living your life the way others want is definitely not a decision that you have made or should make, as you have rights and you have a choice.
